UPSTATE SC • FAMILY-OWNED
Frequently Asked Questions
Everything about our pressure washing, painting, and junk removal services — how we work, what’s included, and how to get scheduled fast.
General
Who are you and what do you do? ▾
Helpful Hand Property Services is a newer, family-owned local company serving the Upstate (Greenville, Greer, Anderson, Clemson, Spartanburg). We offer professional pressure washing, interior/exterior painting, and junk removal with straightforward pricing, text updates, and photo proof when we’re done.
Are you insured? ▾
Yes — we’re fully insured. You can request a COI for your records or HOA.
Do I need to be home for service? ▾
Not required. Please make sure exterior water is on (for washing), pets are inside, and gates are unlocked. We text an ETA, send an arrival photo, and share before/after photos when finished.
Pressure Washing & Soft-Washing
What’s the difference between soft wash and pressure wash? ▾
Soft washing uses low pressure plus detergents to safely remove algae and grime on delicate surfaces (siding, roofing). Traditional pressure washing uses higher pressure for hard surfaces (concrete, brick). Many consumer guides recommend soft washing for siding/roofs to avoid damage. We choose the safest method for each surface. Source: homeowner guidance on soft-washing vs. pressure washing.
Will chemicals harm plants or lawns? ▾
We pre-wet and rinse landscaping, control runoff, and use plant-safe procedures. Pets should remain indoors during service and can return outside after final rinse.
Will my driveway or walkway have lines or “zebra stripes”? ▾
No. We use a rotary surface cleaner (not a wand) for even passes, then post-treat so your concrete dries evenly without striping.
How soon can I park on a cleaned driveway? ▾
Once it’s dry — usually within a few hours on a normal weather day. We’ll confirm before we leave.
Painting
What’s included with a typical paint job? ▾
Prep (masking, protection), light surface repairs (patch/caulk), quality primers where needed, and two finish coats unless otherwise specified. We do a final walkthrough and leave touch-up clearly labeled.
Do you help with color and sheen selection? ▾
Yes — we’ll suggest durable sheens for the space (e.g., washable eggshell/satin for living areas, semi-gloss for trim) and can apply samples so you can see colors in your light.
What about fumes and low-VOC options? ▾
We can specify low- or zero-VOC paints to minimize odor and off-gassing, and we ventilate as we work. Ask us to price both options.
Is my older home lead-safe? ▾
Homes built before 1978 may contain lead-based paint. We follow lead-safe work practices and, when applicable, comply with EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program requirements. Source: U.S. EPA — Renovation, Repair and Painting (RRP) program.
Junk Removal
What do you take? ▾
Furniture, mattresses, appliances, yard debris, construction debris, garage/attic cleanouts, bagged trash, and more. If it’s non-hazardous and liftable, we can likely remove it.
What items can’t you take? ▾
We can’t remove hazardous waste (e.g., chemicals, paint thinner, fuel, asbestos). We’ll guide you to local HHW resources if needed. Many national junk-hauling FAQs outline similar restrictions and emphasize donation/recycling where possible.
Do you recycle or donate? ▾
Yes — whenever practical, we donate and recycle to reduce landfill. We can leave a donation receipt when provided by the receiving organization.
Pricing & Scheduling
How do quotes work? ▾
Use our quick quote form to share your address, service, and any notes. You’ll receive a fast, fixed quote (or a tight ballpark for variable junk loads), plus our next available times.
Do you offer same-/next-day service? ▾
Often, yes — especially for junk removal and small washing jobs. We’ll text an ETA and an arrival photo when we’re en route.
How do you price junk removal? ▾
Primarily by volume (truck space) with a minimum pickup. Heavy materials (e.g., construction debris) and special handling may affect pricing — a common approach across national junk-hauling providers.
What forms of payment do you accept? ▾
Major cards, cash, and invoice via email/text. Residential work is paid on completion; larger paint projects may require a deposit to reserve materials/time.
Policies & Safety
Satisfaction guarantee & warranty ▾
We stand behind our work. If anything isn’t right, we’ll make it right quickly. Many painting projects include a workmanship warranty — ask for details on your quote.

No fee for weather-related delays. For other changes, please give us a heads-up — we’ll work around your day.
HOA & real-estate documentation ▾
